First and foremost, let’s discuss the Major PEP updates section. In Niue, Dalton Tagelagi has been re-elected as Premier, defeating opposition leader O’love Jacobsen by a vote count of 16 to 4 during the first sitting of the new assembly in Alofi. Moving on, in Costa Rica, in response to the escalating violence caused by drug gangs, President Rodrigo Chaves has appointed Mario Zamora as the new Minister of Security. Lastly, in French Polynesia, Moetai Brotherson of the pro-independence Tavini Huitraatira has been elected as the president for a five-year term.

Next, let’s delve into the Election Event section. In India, the main opposition Congress party has emerged victorious, winning more than 130 out of 224 seats in the Karnataka state assembly. Additionally, in Uzbekistan, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has called for a snap poll on July 9, potentially extending his stay in power until 2040.
